okay,so what if the police have been trying to catch a criminal for the longest time and then i kill him will i go to trial or will i go straight to jail?

You will most likely go to jail until your trial, then go to prison.

Well, first consider this:

If the cops had caught him, would they have [tried to] killed him?

The best course of action (in my opinion) would probably be to detain him and execute a citizens arrest. (Basically, call the cops and tell them you want to execute a citizens arrest.) The cops have to actually be there.

When they pull up his record, they'll see the warrant(s) and take him away.

Killing anybody for any reason (including accidentally, in most cases) is against the law. (Accidental is a manslaughter charge, if they prosecute you for it. Intentional is a malice murder charge.)

That depends. If you do not call the cops, and you bury the corpse deep enough, you might just get off Scott free.
