It's completely unacceptable and is setting a bad example to the viewing public, making it seem ok to carry out racist intimidation to people.
Shilpa is a beautiful, successful Asian woman and all of the others are jealous. They have been mimicking her accent and name and have been ignoring her cultural involvement. It may be understated but it is there, very cleverly trying to mask itself but we can see what they really want to say.
Jade is the ring leader and the main bully. She was racist in the original series she was in, calling the Asian woman from there a 'ninja' because of the fact Asian women may wear veils and also was rude to Sophie when she discovered she had a preference for Black men.
I am White with a Black partner and two children of dual heritage, my friends are Black and Asian and I feel disgusted by the racism I see daily in society.
In Britain we try to pretend racism no longer exists, but it does and is getting worse. Idiots like Jade who believe they speak for the nation and have people looking up to them are making it worse. The girl is racist and instead of lining her pockets by watching her shows, we should be getting her out of the spot light. I am refusing to watch BB because she is in it and her racist mother. I hope Shilpa carries on to be successful and can forget the racist ideas of the idiots she is locked up with.
So, in answer to your question, they are being racist to her because we live in a racist society. I know because I see it daily when I am out with my kids, the sly looks they get and the way people act like my boyf going to mug them when we walk down the street. At any bus stop you hear people barking on about the 'immigrants' and 'Muslims' and 'Coloureds' and how they are taking over and are a danger to society. Personally, I lecture them for half an hour about their views and try to show them a different side, but I know when they leave they will just feel the same. We all need to fight racism, BB is just reinforcing it, they need to make a stand and show what is going on and that it is wrong. There is always racism in the BB house. Remember last year there was like a race divide in the house? Something needs to be done.

I did not consider this is be racist abuse and then I realised that Channel 4 have admitted Jack used the P word to describe Shilpa. It was beeped out and can be seen on u-tube. No-one present corrected him and this concerns me as he 'hates' her. A very strong word to use unless he has another issue with her or her background? Everyone deserves respect and I find it sad when people chose to revert back to this childish schoolground behavour when they feel threatened. I think Jermaine is spot on when he talked about Jade feeling threatened by Shilpa and the possiblity of Jade going through a crisis. I also found it sad that instead of being proud that she was famous for 'just' being in Big Brother, Jade took this as an insult. Jade was censured by anti-bully charity Act Against Bullying, which, ironically, she supports. Dropping her picture from its website, the charity said Jade’s behaviour was “unforgivable”. They have placed a police car outside and Danielle's family are potentially being threatened by anit-racist groups. These girls need to be very careful. It doesn't matter if they intend this to be racist! Jade, Jo and Danielle, learn to dodge the spit and eggs!

Because they are JEALOUS of her plain and simple and I mean COME ON jack is with an ugly minger like Jade(she's ugly in both personality and looks) how wonder he's taking it out on Shilpa, he knows a classy beautiful woman like Shilpa wouldn't be interested in a twerp like him, he should be facing his driving offence charges rather than getting away with delaying them just cos he's in there, he ain't no one special, he sure dosn't deserve special treatment just because he's supposedly Jade's "devoted" boyfriend, ahem, note the sarcasm, I wouldn't be suprised if he dumps Jade later on once he gets the publicity he wants, no one in their right mind would want to be associated with her, shows what a complete tosser he must be, the other younger girls have it in for Shilpa as she's the obvious target as she's so much sophisticated than them, they will regret it later on, hopefully these nasty people will fade into oblivion and get their just desserts, BB should know better and stop this behaviour anyway, suppose they think it makes good TV but the complaints and falling ratings say otherwise!

i think people on big brother are just doing this because shilpa is a indian.india for them is not country it's just another race.according to them india is a very poor country and anyone related to it is given a very low status.i have also heard that they r commenting on shilpa's skin colour.this is b'coz shilpa is not as much white as them.they just want shilpa to be out of the show.but nothing is in our hand ,we can only pray for shilpa so that she can remain on the show for a long time.

It's reality TV for crying out loud. Have you ever known a Reality show that wasn't filled with that sort of nonsense? That's what sells the show and makes people watch. Regardless of what abuse goes on, the participants chose to go on, and they are getting paid to be there.
