Peace as a community/world can only be achieved if each member of that community is at peace with and within themselves. Not to sound pessimistic or down on the world, but I don't think that will ever happen.

For Peace and Security one day we will create a universal government. This is the only way to create this ideal you speak of. The world is ripe for the taking too, be the man evil or good if he has a solid plan and is able to convince the right people, we will end up under one power, at a loss of sovereignty and a gain of security. Many will not agree with this and will die, but after a generation.... Just look at recent changes between baby boomers, gen x, and gen Y. Of course this is and opinion.

BEcause 'Peace ' is a too general notion of tree hugging hippie crap. There are too many people with too many beliefs in this world to consider and conjure up the notion that we will ever live with the concept of peace . As long as humans have emotions we will never achieve 100% 'peace'.

If you are doubting God, you need to speak to Him about it. Ask Him to keep your faith strong and to hold you close, no matter how far you try to go. And don't think about God so temporally. Time is irrelevant to God; it is a construct of THIS universe, the creation. God is not subject to time. It doesn't matter how long ago Jesus died for your sins, because the sacrifice is an eternal one--the power of God's forgiveness, the Grace of Jesus Christ, and the authority of the Holy Spirit are not limited by this world, and are never cut off from God's children. Don't ever doubt that God hears you. Think about it logically, if God knows everything, He knows what you're praying; if God is everywhere, He is in the room with you as you are praying, so He hears you; if God is all-powerful, then He must have pretty good hearing, so I'm sure He can hear you ;). If you are not going to make it through the week, then pray to God to welcome you into His Kingdom, and rejoice as the earliest Christians did in the face of martyrdom, you are about to come face-to-face with the Lord! (This doesn't mean to give up and not use medication or seek treatment. This life is precious, God wants it to last as long as possible.) As for whether or not you are saved, only God can answer that question. And yes, it is very normal to suffer in your faith when experiencing a rough time. It's why Satan exposes us to hardship, in order to drive us away from God. Just trust in God, and always pray to Him when you feel yourself slipping away.

My observation is that large groups of people only fight over two things: control of monetary interests (oil, land, etc) or control over others (governmental ideals, religion, sexual dominance, racial superiority, etc). All of it is an effort to be or feel superior to another group. So to answer your question, peace is not a hard concept to grasp, it's just that everyone wants control and no one wants to be controlled. This is just my thought, I'd like it if someone wanted to debate it.

Humans are the only animals which routinely kill members of our own species. We are extremely violent. It is in our nature. Until we overcome it, it will always be our most limiting factor for any type of lasting peace.

I recently saw the opening scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey again. It really showed the nature of man never really changes.

Its impossible to be different people and have peace. think about that, billions of people in the world that are all uniquely different and your asking them to have no arguments? or disaproval and actions on beliefs?

its not in our nature. we generally are very selfish and violent unless we are taught not to be. that doesnt mean we hate people when we are born but we arent born loving either.
