My school uniform requires a white, short sleeved buttoned shirt. Problem is, ive never worn these before and in my previous school i'd wear long sleeves to the wrists.

How do i know what is the right size for me ? I bought one..but it was so tight and effiminate looking. Should the sleeve reach my elbow?

A proper fitting short sleeve button down shirt:
The sleeve seem (the top of the shoulder) should hit you right where your shoulder meets your arm. The sleeve should be somewhere between your shoulder and elbow (right around the bicep area) and you should be able to hug yourself (I know it sounds stupid). That will ensure you have the proper fit. Good luck!

It depends on the style of the shirt. It could be anywhere from three inches from your shoulder to your elbow.
