I would be interested in hearing other people's opinions concerning North Korea; items such as the people, Government, Human Rights Issue, etc.

Living over here, I have heard a lot of opinions. I would like to hear other people's opinions from the other side of the Pacific Ocean.

In my opinion, I've seen film smuggled out from North Korea showing the "people" collecting grains of rice and fertilizer on the train tracks. The North Koreans shown were very very thin and unhealthy looking.
Soldiers in the North Korean army or police were hitting people with batons who were trying to find food. Also shown, people being shot for breaking rules of the country. This was done with captive audiences people being made to watch this terrible crime.

After seeing this film that was taken very carefully I can't help but think the leader is taking money that was given for aide to the people and using it for his high lifestyle. Plus building up the military and to make the country strong. The country will be strong but the people will remain weak in two ways physically and mentally. If so controlled the hope for a better life is lowered.

It breaks my heart to see any nation being treated so badly. The innocent people only want to be fed, work, be educated, have a home and family. Freedoms to speak out, to listen to music they enjoy, to worship the God of choice.

God gives each human these rights at birth. No man or woman has the right to take them away.

One last comment I have a friend from South Korea who is a successful businessman who I often talk to. If I knew he had to live under those conditions north of him I'd be so very stressed and upset.

So in closing I wish and hope for a better life for everyone living in North Korea that they somehow can rise up and remove the leader and the army will support the Korean people and turn their lives around. It's never too late.

Sincerely, Mama Jazzy Geri

I think the people of North Korea are somewhat brainwashed. Unlike most totalitairan regiemes that gain the obience of their people by fear of persecution North Korea is an expert at propaganda.Their able to effectively mislead their people into thinking their humantairan hardships such as phamon is caused by other countries jealously, rather than their milita's arms race. Their way of thinking has been highly conditioned since the rule of Kim jungs father. The Government censors everything from reading material to media outlets. If I where North Korean I would think Kim Jung 2 was not only a great man but a divine entitity. Their right to think freely is eliminated because their country is completey isolated from the rest of the world. I beleive the Government is weak and poses little or no threat to the world. They use their Nuclear Arms race as propaganda to the world. In The same way they do to their citizens. Into believing North Korea is a Powerful nation rather than the truth.
Its weak on the verge on economic collapse and their Nuclear Pursuit will never outgrow its infant stages.

North Korea has a mad-man running the country. The people are starving and there are no civil-rights or no Human rights. The North Korean Soldier's stand and watch their border with guns of course, sometimes at different places within only a matter of 5 foot distance between the South Korean.

It makes me want to go and rescue all.

Curfew is at like 10pm, like 1 in 5 children dies from starvation, terrible gulag system, communist style of government make for a poor farming system that is not as effective as it could be, regulations on when and where some people can have sex, and much much more. So overall I give North Korea a 7 out of 10 as a country being overall good, but having a few areas it could work on. Not from otherside of the ocean for the time being, but came from the otherside.

well i think that if they are trying to start a nuclear war they are doing the right thing they do have the right to nuclear weapons but they should not test them if they have been warned that countries may find it an act of preperation for attack
