I have been really sick for a long time. The last 12 months were the worst, so I have not been at school. Basicaly I have been dead to everybody.

I went for a few hours the other day.

Here's what I need to know, should I jump right back into everything the way it was, or should I pace myself so that its not too awkward?

I think you should stop worrying about what other people think and do what's best for you. Whatever pace you are comfortable with is what is best.

How is your health, now? things are going to be pretty overwhelming and although you want to get right in there and have fun, remember that there are going to be some challenges. Pace yourself and take it slow. Slowly find some good friends who will help with the transition. Don't expect it all to be pleasurable. There will be joys and disappointments along the way. You can't act as if you have never left: because, well, you did. But, you can't live in the past, so enjoy socializing today. The only reasons that I say for you to pace yourself is that you won't want to overwhelm yourself physically or emotionally. This will also give others some time to get to know you, again, as well. Especially, if they have lost t touch with you since you have been ill.

do you mean school or just being social all together.
you should go back to school if you are well. if you can work it out with teachers and school maybe half days for a week or 2 then back full time.
i would suggest slowly easing into any other activities-clubs, sports, that kinda stuff so you won't be too overwhelmed.
i had to have major surgery and missed over half a school year, so i have an idea of what you must be going through. it will get easier, it will just take some time to get back in the swing of things.
glad you're healthy enough to go back to school. peolpe think it sounds fun to be off for a long time, but it got boring really fast for me. and i'd rather have been in school than sick, or in the hospital. best of luck to you.

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about, although I get the impression that you're not talking about schoolwork. Could you be more specific?

And, I'm sorry you were sick, but I'm glad you're feeling better.
