Ever see movies when robbers make people strip before they leave? Like in the movie Surrender where they left all the rich people naked, or Inside Man where they made the bank strip?
What purpose would this serve? A diversion of some kind?
Would you make the whole crowd strip down bare?

Well obviously in Inside Man there was a purpose... it was to have them put on other clothes so they would all look the same. So it could serve various purposes... but I bet some would do it just for kicks lol.

I don't think it really benefiited anything I think most of it was just to show how much control they really had and to make even the rich people feel so helpless that their money couldn't save them but then and it didn't even matter now cause they were naked and broke!
I don't know if I would I mean if I was crazy enough to rob a bank I would probably be crazy enough to make everyone strip but I would probably make all of them dance together just to add to it. (like in the pianist) Just kidding about the dancing part. but it does make you wonder what people are thinking...

When people are naked they feel vulnerable and weak. If you are naked, the chances of you standing up to a man with a gun are very slim. It denies your victims the ability to use the cell phone, a hidden knife or anything else that could be use against you like a belt. However, I think overall, people stripped or naked feel vulnerable and at risk. Not the mentality to stand up to a killer.

Mostly they do that to stop those people from coming out of the building. When they are naked they will not go out in public so it will give robbers time to escape and they will not follow them so eventually it will be hard to know which side they disapeared to.

Nah, I wouldn't bother asking them to strip. I'd just take the money and run like crazy.

If they strip they are less reluctant to come out running for you or playing games also when you are bare you carry no weapons

the only reason id do it was to see everyone naked. well really cause they wont run out to get your licensse numbeer. Modesty will win most of the time
