Basic run down of the 5th Harry Potter:
Harry is in his 5th year at Hogwarts. Once again he has spends the summer with the Dursely's which he hates more than usual. Dudely joined the boxing team at school and so Harry avoids him more than usual. Harry tries to keep up with the news, figuring if Voldy makes his move it's going to be big enough to make on to the Muggle news. One night while Harry is out by the park close to the house a couple of Dementors attack him and Dudley. Harry does a perfect patronous and makes them leave. He then has to drag Dudley home. When they get there his aunt and uncle accuse Harry of attacking Dudley with magic. Shortly after the MoM sends an owl telling Harry he's expelled from Hogwarts and facing a displinary hearing. Harry starts to leave but then gets another letter telling him to stay. Harry and his uncle get into a fight and Vernon tries to kick Harry out. The Petunia gets a howler from Dumbledore and tells Vernon, Harry can't leave. Toward the end of the summer the Order sends the Dursely's a fake letter telling they won a prize for the best kept lawn in the area and they leave to go get the award, leaving Harry at home. The Order comes to Privet Drive after the Dursely's have left and take Harry to Grimwald Place.
When Harry gets there he's more than a little pissed, especially after finding out that Ron and Hermonie have been there most of the summer but haven't been keeping him up-to-date with what's going on.
Ron and Hermonie are made Prefects, which puts Harry in an even worse mood.
Back at school Harry is even more miserable because most of the wizarding world didn't believe him or Dumbledore about the return of Voldy at the end of the Triwizard Tourny.
There's a new DADA teacher, Umbridge, who works for the MoM. She refuses to teach them anything and as a result they start Dumbledore's Army where Harry teachs DADA. Harry starts having dreams where he's actually seeing Voldy thoughts and is supposed to learn Occumency with Snape.
Harry has trouble with it and dreams that he attacks Mr. Weasly. Toward the end of the book Harry has a dream about Voldy torturing Sirus and when he can't ahold of his godfather gathers a group from DA and goes the Ministry.
The Death Eaters show up, there's and come after the kids. Later some of the people from the Order show up to help and one of them dies. Theres a final battle in the lobby between Dumbledore and Voldy which results in the ministry finally accepting the Voldermort has in fact returned to power.
There is some other stuff that happens too but that's a pretty good overview of most of it, and also highlights what is most likely to appear in the movie coming out on July 13.

The film was once quite no longer just like the guide in any respect. I was once style of dissappointed.
