I dont follow the Voodoo Religion.
But for your question yes i believe it is real.
Regarding the Religion side....
Voodoo (Vodou, Vodoun, Vodun, Vudu, or Vudun in Benin;Togo; southeastern Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Senegal;also Vodou in Haiti) is a name attributed to a West African ancestral religious system of worship and ritual practices, where deities are born and honored, along with the veneration of ancient and recent ancestors who earlier served the same tutelary deities. This system of worship is widespread in a multitude of African groups in West Africa.

There is no power except that of God. Satan? Even he has to be allowed by God to do anything. Much of this magical type of belief relies on "transference", where something that resembles or os made to represent something actually becomes that other thing. It just doesn't hold water.

Yes, even though I saw a Law & Order episode where it was all a sham, and just based on chemistry and herbs and whatnot.
