Think about this....it could be true.

Could be. Perhaps many of the percieved "Male chauvanistic" behaviors stem from men wanting to keep women in their place.

I sure wish we could turn back the clock. June Cleaver was alright in my book! Ward, well, he was a little stuffy....but I digress.

Women are women and men are men...and the man of the household is supposed to be the boss, and the women are supposed to serve their husbands with love and respect and tenderness and leave all her inhibitions at the bedroom door.

I believe that THAT is what most men really want, and quite frankly, more women would be happy if they would just lay down their over-inflated-pride and do the right thing.

If nothing more, give their men sex, sex and more sex, if that is what he wants. The rest falls into place when the priorities are met.

no it couldn't, since male-chauvanism has been around a lot longer than feminism.
other way around, pal.

all these conflicting opinions of how a woman 'should be'.
how about accepting people how they ARE? has anyone ever thought of that?
how about a woman who works full time, makes more money than her husband, who is very sexual & TREATS (rather than SERVES) her husband with love and respect and tenderness and leave all her inhibitions at the bedroom door, and expects to be treated with the same love & respect & tenderness?

Not a chance!

Male chauvanism is a couple thousand years old (if not more). Feminism is only a few decades old. May religions used to be matriarchical, but then the major religions changed all of that and now women have been repressed and mistreated for a couple thousand years.

If you're talking about feminisim in the basic sense of believing and vying for women's rights then that's probably been around for a long time.

If you're talking about Gloria Steinem then that's relatively recent.

NO. Feminism was (and remains) a response to the scourge that is Male-Chauvanism.

Just take one glimpse at the Cretans shouting from their soapboxes on this forum... MALE CHAUVINISM is ALIVE AND WELL. The scourge of Male Chauvinism - like leprosy, smallpox, polio, etc, - has to some extent been eradicated as a result of greater awareness and prompt, aggressive treatment. Isolated pockets, however, remain and if we become overly complacent this will give the the virus an opportunity to grow. We must continually stand our guard against this preventable illness of the self-centered and feeble - minded.

It's more likely an expression of homophobia, which typically requires men to distance themselves from "feminine" traits and appreciation. By putting women down the chauvinist ensures that he can't be confused with one.

No. The feminist movement was a response to male-chauvanism.

Oh and Marti, you may be a happy hubby, but I can guarantee your wife is miserable.

When we've been told that we're useless and abusive monsters for decades and wondering why we're being told that, after a while the negativity bounces. So hell yeah it is.

Here is the latest post from the Mighty Eternal Bachelor Blog, directly on topic:

http://eternalbachelor.blogspot.com

"Women fear the MRA revolution because now, their skankiness and dishonorable behavior, coupled with a legal system that supports it is making men turn their back on women in disgust. Whether a woman desires you or not makes little difference, when she discovers she cannot control you and you have no desire for her, it strikes fear into her heart. She'll wonder how many men are like you. She might even call you gay, looking to draw some blood and hurt your feelings. Laugh at her and walk away. She's used to thinking everything with a Y chromosome wants her. None of us were born women haters, so next time a skank calls you a woman hater, tell her "Women made me that way!"

That site should be on every man's bookmark list.
