I want to add this as a trivia question at my sisters shower next month.

Anniebunn got it. We feel left out, we don't relate and we just don't feel we belong there. Men came to our baby shower and it was miserable for all of us. We were completely stripped of our masculinity for the occasion. Men REALLY don't want to drop a clothes pin from between their knees into a glass. Nor do we have any desire to play any games like that. I realized then how true my male family and friends were when they didn't abandon me that day. We all swore to each other that we would NEVER go to another one though. You may tell your guy to go because he loves you, but if you love him, don't ask him to go. It's your thing, really. And Tarz, you really could have just posted a link. Jeez.

I think that used to be before. Like 75% of all baby showers I've been to in the past 4 years are for both men & women. Its not your traditional baby shower its more like a party celebrating the future baby.

My husband went to mine (okay, so I *made* him go). It took two to make the baby, she's his daughter too... so he was going to be there. He had a good time though. I invited one of our old high school guy friends so he wasnt the only guy there.

I think guys just see it as being "too girly"... and some baby showers really are too girly. Mine wasn't at all. We didn't have any games... there was only MAYBE 10 people total. It was in my living room at my house.... it was more like a get together and give me presents for my baby kind of thing.

Because girls rock! no sriousely, i belive that its the way it is because us girls are bringing the baby into the world sure the father plays a huge part but babies are genrelly more connected to the mother for the reason that she gives birth. can you imagine a whole bunch of guys jumping out and screaming "baby shower!". lol. i hope that the shower goes well. bye bye

My mom and dad went to a shower for their niece recently, and the other women there hardly acknowledged his presence. So maybe it's because the guys feel uncomfortable, or left out, or like they don't belong.

Generally it is a wussy thing, but I have been to showers where the men congregate separately in the family room or such and it is fun.

'Cause guys would rather cut their toenails short than go to a shower and google over presents they really DON'T care about........ or at least that's it for me. There are a thousand places I'd rather be....except for the food.

Cause guys don't "ewww and ahhhhh" at baby clothes. Not to mention they don't really understand things the way a woman does.

Generally because the men don’t normally want to attend.

Mine was both sexes, it was fun. We had a lot of activities.
