Tiffany, there ARE women soldiers and marines in combat. That's against military regulations, but the military is short handed and they need the women on combat duty.
Technically, there are no woman in infantry, artillery or armored units.
In the real world, women in public affairs units have been assigned to operate machine guns in convoys and women linguists have been attached to fire teams as translators.
Also, women MP's and other female soldiers and marines have been assigned to checkpoints to frisk Iraqi women - and since they are there to search for terrorists (and there are Iraqi women terrorists) that IS a combat job, no matter what anybody says.
There are also women helicopter pilots and some of them have been hurt or killed by ground fire. One Illinois National Guard pilot lost both her legs when her helicopter was hit by a rocket propelled grenade over Baghdad - she ran for Congress last year (I'm not sure if she won).
Also, there are women bomb disposal specialists and, of course, dismantling a roadside bomb is combat duty. The first woman from my city, New York City, to be killed in combat was a bomb disposal expert - she died when a roadside bomb went off while she was dismantling it.
There was also a married couple from the New York State National Guard - she died 3 years ago, he just got killed late last year.
So yes, there ARE women in combat, although the Pentagon tries to pretend that's not the case (because Republican conservative idiots can't handle the idea of women fighting for their country with rifles in hand)

Some people sure do jump to conclusions, don't they? And, they are usually hateful about it.
If it helps, I saw your earlier question and I was not the least bit offended. I saw it as someone who didn't know something trying to gather information. Don't stop doing that because of a few silly people.
