I sat here for twenty minutes trying to think of something that is our GREATEST weakness, I came up with laziness, lack of foresight, inability to change, consumption of natural resources, and the way the internet is being used(yes, I'm guilty) but I couldn't pick just one.
Our greatest strength, however, was easy. It is our ability to communicate. Hands down.
I found it! Our greatest weakness would be the way we, people are going to hate me, help each other. As a species, the only way we will ever evolve is to get rid of our weaknesses, that means selective breeding. I will be hated. Imagine the number of people you know with glasses or contacts. How many people did you know with glasses fifteen years ago? I have no problems with people with bad eyesight, my girlfriend hwears glasses, I'm just using this as an example. We are breeding in bad eyesight. As a species this is bad. Which leads me to our greatest strength, our ability to vercome such genetic unfortunates like that. We had a lot of people who had bad eyesight, so we invented glasses and then contacts, we saw a lot of people were dying, so we invented drugs. But by keeping those people alive, we are allowing something inside of them to live as well, mutate and maybe later be immune to drugs, but our industriousness will hopefully be able to overcome tha as well. It is a delicate balance.

Our greatest weakness is our desire for comfort and security, conformity and all things that deny the will. The greatest strength is naturally the flipside to that...our desire and greed for freedom and power, beauty and truth(including conciousness of our will)...any and all things which further and celebrate the will.
The real question to me is:which of those two desires is stronger? It's the old Homeric/Miltonic question. What do you really want: freedom and all of the dangers and pain with it or peace and comfort and security in deference to a greater power(be it God, government etc..)?

greatest weakness is ~fear-~ everyone is afraid of something be it fear of loosing something or some one or saying something not politically correct or rejection
greatest strength is ~compassion~ for the most part we all come
together to help and support those in need such as in a disaster or tragedy
