that section is how he was feeling at that point of life, confused and alone. Not literally alone, but that feeling of being alone every around many people. This song is how he's feeling on tour.

He feels too tired and depressed playing for the shows on tour and making all the fake smiles that he has to give to the fans.

He never expected to be big in the first place, and the whole life of being a huge rockstar is very tireing, and he knows that his fan friends arent really true friends and such. And he prefers being in his household with his true friends rather than giving so much fake smiles to everyone else that is fake.
