No, he’s not gay! Don’t you understand? He’s not a normal sea sponge. Look at him! He’s a rectangular SYNTHETIC CELLULOSE KITCHEN SPONGE. He doesn’t BELONG at the bottom of the ocean! They haven’t yet revealed his secret origin, where he gets from some supermarket shelf or someone’s kitchen down to the bottom of the sea, but surely you can see that he didn’t originate there…? Of course he’s odd and doesn’t fit in! Of course he’s strange! But it doesn’t mean he’s gay. I mean, he doesn’t have any super powers, does he? Nobody’s been after him to register as a dangerous mutant, have they? So he can’t be gay.
