suggestions:

when love finds it's end, you find yourself wishing for the beginning.

what hurts more than a love ended is a love pretending to exist.

even the heart cannot deny the end of a faulted dream.

the bitter cold that numbs the heart marks the point of lost existence.

the pain lies in realizing you gave so much for nothing.

Think symbolically.....

"over the river and through the woods to grandmothers house we go".......

Symbolically, one is over the pain (river)... and past the obstacles (woods)... into the arms of one who is familiar with what it means to be there (grandmother)....

Grandmothers are more attentive to the ear than mothers who nourish... for they nourish and they listen... and for that, they offer sound advice which soothes the soul that yearns for someone to just hear them out......

Reminds me of a great line from a Seekers (Australian group from the 60s) song, ". . . but I was nothing to him and he was the world to me."
