On my Dell laptop there's a slot above the hard drive and I don't know what it's for. Does anyone know? It's a Dell M1210. Right above the hard drive is a slot that doesn't fit a Cardbus PC card.

it is for a removable card reader. i googled it and that is an option you have of buying later on.

Its called a PCMCIA slot. Its use for wireless cards, ethernet cards, flash memory readers and more.

Oh... I should of read the rest of the question. OK, its not a pcmcia slot. My other guess is maybe a SD memory reader or the like.
