Solving for length I believe should come first.

Given:
area = 80
breadth = 4
length = 2x + 10

as we know:
length X breadth = area
therefore length X 4 = 80
or length = 80 / 4 = 20

as given
length = 2x + 10
therefore 2x + 10 = 20
or 2x = 20 -10
or 2x = 10
or x = 10 / 2 = 5

SOLUTION: x = 5

the area of a rectangle is 80 m sq. The formula to evaluate the area is length multiply with width. So:

(2x+10) * 4 = 8x+40
8x+40=80
x=5
