It isn't a virus. It is adware that has hijacked your browser and possibly your hosts file.

A virus scan won't usually find adware or spyware. Use anti-adware and ati-spyware programs to find it and rid your system of it.

Free and very good ones are Adaware SE and Spybot S&D

Download Spybot. It is free and destroys most spyware. You can also go to the Norton or Mcaffee website and they should have an online scan and a test to test if your software is preforming properly. I would restart right now and login in safemode. Then I would do a virus scan and maybe a disk cleanup and erase all temparary internet files. Then defrag and if that doesn't work, download spybot and search your computer. Make sure your anti-virus is up to date. Good luck.

Look up A Squared on the internet and download it for the best anti virus, free.
Get ahold of a Registry Checker for the same reason.
Rootkit debuggers might be neccessary.
And if that doesn't work, you may need to put it out of it's misery. Either take it out back and shoot it, or mail it to me. I could use a newer one.

Go here. Download the free ad-Aware (third choice). Follow the directions. It will rid your computer of the spyware. Use the Ad-Aware at least once a week. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/select_your_product.php

could be the system administrator has blocked those and programed it to be redirected elsewhere... the post above mine are correct aboout the spyware option although it could also be a trojan program or malware that is hijacking your software settings and reprograming the defalts to its own preferance. Good luck take it to tthe shop they can maybe fix it. Also they are better equiped to help you than I am.
