We are losing our freedoms and now criminals aren't punished because we would take away their freedom.

I don't feel like I am loosing my freedom. If a few more people want to search my bags at the airport, then I'd rather do that then be a victim of a terrorist act. If I have to refrain from bringing nail clippers on a train, so be it. I'll be alive when I reach my destination. I don't break the law, I work, and pay my taxes, etc. I feel free.

yes and no. We are still a 'free' country, but all countries are different. One freedom I know we have lost (which may not be important to all of you) is the one to know whether our clothes are really made of fur or faux fur. There is a stipulation in the labelling law that makes it possible for clothing to contain a percentage of real fur (if from china, fur from a beloved family pet such as cat or dog) without stating it on the label.
This is a small freedom we have lost. I think the better question here is :"what freedoms have we lost?"

i agree with baremusic...a nation where even murderers and serial killers have the same freedom as hard-working citizens clearly indicates that the hard-workin citizens have lost their freedom 2b safe.
that aside, i think at school we've also list many freedoms such as the freedom to tell jokes and express ourselves.

Yes, freedom of privacy a huge one. Thank you for asking the question as many people just don't seem to get it.
