I use a bounty hunter, very low dollar $150.00 I have found over 3000 coins in 2 years and about 20 rings. most of the coins were modern but I have found a lot of silver, some tokens (one I dug up sold on e-bay for $82.00) you will have a lot of fun, because you never know what you will dig up.

it is not how expensive/fancy/expensive your machine is, but how well you learn to use it. Seen guys with $3000 machines walk right over something that someone else using a less expensive machine hit on.

Radio Shack has a couple in the 150.00 range - they work well.
