I'm 27 weeks. I have been at work and have been sitting down most of the day but have been standing up and walking around and up and down stairs. What is the best thing to reduce it?

You probably need to elevate your feet often during the day. Put a large phone book or dictionary under your desk and prop your feet up. Make sure your not consuming too much sodium.

Most importantly, make sure your blood pressure in not elevated. When you develop edema, it can be a sign of pregnancy induced hypertension that affect around 20% of pregnant women. Make sure you let your obstetrican know at your next appointment, so he/she can screen you for PIH. Look for a dull headache, visual disturbances (floating lights), decreased urinary output, edema, and epigastric pain.

Good luck and wish you well!

the nice and cozy temperature motives the feet to swell for the time of summer months. once you're only relaxing at homestead raise your feet on pillows and some chilly ice packs or compresses might want to really help, too. Are you preserving water, if so a doctor can verify you to confirm in case you want some diurectics (pills that help your body to get rid of added water).

Its hot in Melbourne, I was outside in the heat a couple hours ago, it nearly killed me. Sit down with you feet in some cold water or have a cool shower but dont use too much water ok , and finally have a couple of beers.

be sure to drink a LOT of water, which helps with water retention-- when you are able--prop your legs and feet up on pillows, legs should be raised 'above' your heart for swelling to go down.
