Baby, if it's turning your finger green.... there's PROBABLY a 98% chance that this ring isn't STERLING silver. It's probably a silver/nickel alloy metal.

Regardless, put some clear nail polish on it. This should put a barrier between your skin and the metal.

Good luck!

If its turning your finger green its probably not real. You can polish the inside of the ring and your other jewelry with clear nail vanish wear it makes contact with your skin.

To remove the green around your finger I would use "Mineral spirits" you can find it at any hardware store and it is safe to use on your skin. Painters use it to get stain off their hands. AS far as the ring.. apply clear coat fingernail polish on it to keep any metal from making direct contact w/ your skin. Good luck.

Paint the inside of the ring with clear nail polish. It will keep your skin from reacting with the metal.

somewhere I heard that this is from the zinc in the paint/coating (I get similar thing happen to me) try coating it with nail polish and the stains should wash off in time, try vinegar or eucalyptus for a natural, if not pile on the turps. I'd also suggest using hypo-allergenic jewellery (oh and watch out for brass, I get blue from this one!)

Wrap some tape or a band-aide around the inside of the band then it won't be in contact with your skin.
