Depends on how far along you are. Doctors like for you to take as little as possible in 1st trimester. After that, you should be fine with extra strength Tylenol. Advil has been proven to cause birth defects.

Is it safe to use acetaminophen (Tylenol) during pregnancy?
Tylenol is fine to use when you're pregnant. Stay away from ibuprofen and other aspirin-like anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), though, because these drugs can decrease your amniotic fluid and thin your blood, which could make it harder to stop a hemorrhage during labor. But take only the standard dose; Tylenol in massive doses can lead to liver damage.

Yes you can, especially since your doctor has given the okay. Acetaminophen is the generic name for tylenol. I also checked with my OB about extra strenght tylenol, and he said it's okay to take.

Tylenol is acetaminophen, Asprin is acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), Motrin/Advil is ibuprophen.
Tylenol is safe to take while pregnant... avoid all the other ones.

Yes you can Acetaminophetin is safe to take during pregnancy. I'm pretty sure that advil contains ibuprofin which is why it isn't safe to take during pregnancy.

I am looking at a bottle right now, and it says, "If pregnant or breast feeding, ask a health professional before use". We don't know anything about you or your pregnancy. Please ask your own doctor.
Edit: I apologize. I didn't see the part where you said your doctor said it was fine. I hope you feel better soon.
