Is there anyway to upgrade graphics card for a notebook? I know you can't open it up and add another graphics chip. Is there any graphics card i can add via ADVANCED PC CARD SLOT (if not presently, then in the future)?

And also is it possible go into the bios and increase the amount of ram for a Intel GMA 950?

As I read more about the new Express card slot, that is supposed to be able to run anything external, including a video card for your laptop.

No, you got a operating laptop or computer so now you're screwed. Laptops suck for most causes, however the numerous one is that countless the factors won't be able to be upgraded, and the gfx card is this variety of. there is also no such element as an 'exterior gfx card'. they basically do not exists because they favor to be appropriate on to the motherboard because of the speed of the guidelines that is going by them, Firewire or USB would not come everywhere close to to doing the job quickly adequate. next time, spend you money better properly on a good computer gadget. Then, at the same time as it needs upgrading, you could really do it somewhat than having to throw the total element away and purchase a sparkling one as you're going to ought to do right here.

On most notebooks, the grpahics processor is embedded on the motherboard, so you cannot update it without updating the motherboard (and that is not so easy in a laptop either). I don't know of any grpahics cards you can add via a PC slot. I think that is technically unfeasible, but maybe someone else knows of one. Anyone?

Unless they specifically say that the video is upgradeable, it is NOT upgradeable. In general, only the very expensive "gamer's laptop" like Alienware Area 51m or Dell XPS Mobile have upgradeable graphics.

And no, PC card interface cannot do video.

most notebook's gpu is embeded (unless you have a high end dell/alienware laptop). there are a few pcmcia cards out, but they only go up to 8mb or so, and are by no means game-worthey. and yes you can increase the ammount of ram for the 950 to 128MB i believe
