How could Leo not win THE Golden Globe for best performance???

He was the best of them all in my book. He did an outstanding job in both " The Departed" and "Blood Diamond".

This was his year to get his just rewards.

He is an actor who has substance in the film industry, someone who is not scared to bring up the issues in the world!!

Very upset with the result...anyone agree??

I think it's the Titanic curse. Both he and Kate Winslett are amazing actors who have had some amazing roles, but neither can seem to win especially when it comes to the Oscars. I do think it's backlash from how successfull Titanic was. I think Leo's good looks work against him too. The people who vote for these things usually tend to be older white males who don't have a problem voting for a hot young woman, but don't often give the award out to a hot young man.

As for Leo's performances this year, I think he has had his best acting roles this year. For those screaming that Leo's accent in Blood Diamond was wrong, I'm willing to bet not a single one of them actually knows a South African person. Their accent sounds nothing like the British or Australian accents that most Americans are used to and if that's what you were expecting then of course it didn't sound right. Leo actualy did an amazing job in Blood Diamond with the accent and with the acting. If it were up to me, he would have won for that role. So yes, I totally agree. I was very disappointed to hear he lost last night even though I knew he would. The guy is amazing though and I know he definitely has an Oscar in his future somewhere. He already has a Golden Globe for The Aviator for two years ago.

I agree to some extent, Forest Whitaker deserved the best actor award for "The Last King Of Scotland" over Leo for both "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond". But, no doubt that Leo did get short changed!

it's a conspiracy against him... if you have noticed.. he gets passed over for everything and he is an AMAZING actor. he should have won best actor for the Aviator!
it seems that sometimes the people in hollywood will single out someone to ignore or pick a favorite to go after.
it's all a popularity contest
we all know Leo is great!!

Don't get me wrong. I loved him in both movies! He did a great job. But he lost to a fine actor. Forest Whitaker deserves the award as well.

Leo is not that good of an actor. I'm surprised he was in the list for that horrible accent. The Departed was good but he certainly wasn't the best in that movie. Looks aren't everything ladies!!

I agree. He always turns in an outstanding performance. However, the guy who won was hard to beat.

I think his accent in "Blood Diamond" was atrocious. It was so incredibly hard to ignore. And Forest Whitaker's performance was definitely an award-winning performance. True, I think it was DiCaprio's best performance to date, but not better than Whitaker. He's still got plenty of time, though.
