I think 3 Years. (After the three Jewish rebel army's lost at the temple Mont in 70AD on or the three,I think Eleazar, took refuge at the fortification (Masada). So if three years is correct than it should be73AD 0r 74AD.
Read book 6 of Josephus' "The Wars of the Jews"
This text was what led Archaeologists to the ruins in the 1st place.
In it Josephus tells of certain Jews that hid to avoid the group suicide and later told the story to J and the Roman Army under Titus.

The Masada rebeles kept on fighting for three more years until they committed suicide, but not everybody committed suicide, some women and children were found by romans who were hiding beneath the fort.That was the first uprising against Rome stared in 68 until 73 a.d.The second uprising was in 133 - 135 a.d. the leader was I think Simon Bar Kochba
