All odor is, is something that is in the process of decay. From the thousand dollar bottle of perfume, to the new car smell (its the glue decaying that causes it) Things decay more rapidly at higher temperature than in colder. The humidity adds that extra moisture making that smell even greater.

Take a dead skunk in the middle of summer, or winter. Summer skunk will smell worse than winter, because of heat and humidity.

Moister in the air makes it more dense, which in turn the moister in the air holds the smell together at a lower level in the air allowing it to be smelled more easier.
