Natural disasters most commonly occurring in the Philippine Island chain are typhoons (Pacific hurricanes), earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. The Philippines are located in a long chain which stretches app. north to south just off the east coast of China, south of Japan and Okinawa. It is near to the deepest trench in the ocean, the Marianas Trench, which, at its' deepest point, is almost seven miles deep.
As the Philippines are considered a third world country, whose economy has declined greatly since the American military closed its' bases there in the 1980's & 90's, its' level of preparedness for coping with natural disasters is practicaly non-existant.

Location: Southeastern Asia, archipelago between the Philippine Sea and the South China Sea, east of Vietnam
The location of the Philippines is along a convergent plate boundary which produces earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. The islands are also subject to tropical cyclones, droughts, and wind storms (see pdf link).
The last link is to the Philippines site for disaster management.

Well;
typhoons
storms
tornadoes
earthquakes
volcanic eruptions
fire
and many more
Location: Southeastern Asia, archipelago between the Philippine Sea and the South China Sea, east of Vietnam. Well since I am a Filipino, my country is very prepared for any disasters. If we can take care of 17 leaders of the Eats Asia Summit and the ASEAN, well I'm a cebuano; then we can take care of these weather and land disasters.

One big problem the Philippines had last year was Typhoons.
They got slammed with 9 or 10 of them in one season!
Their preparedness is almost non-existent.
