The devil I already know because I would already know what to expect. If I went with the devil I don't know, I'd have to deal with breaking in a new devil I'm not sure I could handle. Or something like that.,,..lol...I think the sleeping pill has kicked in now, so this may make no sense whatsoever!

I perceive this to mean that you know the wrong of the familiar but could never guess what the unknown can and is capable of- you understand!
