ok, my niece who is 12 and i were in a mall here in vegas and we passed by a shoe store and she wanted to go in. she found a pair of "stripper heels" she wanted. it was her birthday so i wanted to get them for her, but i didn't know if she was too young for that look. from what she tells me those shoes are like the hot new thing now in that age group. i guess they are wearing them with jeans. that's "the look". any thoughts? too young?

Women (and girls) should be able to wear what they want without being stereotyped. The only thing that _disallowing_ a girl from wearing make-up or harmless high-heeled shoes is going to do (I'd be grateful that she didn't ask to buy a miniskirt) is perpetuate the idea that men _always_ look at women as sex objects and, because the woman "knows" this, she should take the responsibility to not "play up to it." And it makes the clothes more important than the mind: high heels automatically transform someone into a dumb slutty stripper. Obviously not true.
She's not going to get raped and murdered for wearing a pair of shoes. (And how can you possibly displace the blame for rape from a _man_ to a _pair of shoes_? Do all men everywhere have no self-control?) And it certainly has nothing to do with pregnancy (see the immediate connection people try to make between clothes and sex). People are such moralizing, stereotyping vultures.
You question reminded me that I've always wanted a pair of stripper heels, so I'm going to look for some now.

I had a friend who once bought her daughters ageing from 8 to 12 what you call stripper heels and they did the job. Those kids sure did look like strippers wearing them. My daughter only just bought her first pair of high stripper heels and she is 18. They looked great on her, but there is no way she would have worn them at the age of 12. And if she had wanted to I would not have let her at that age. There is plenty of time to wear things like that and kids need to be kids. Unfortunately the manufacturers of these items seem to target the young kids to try and pressurise them into buying these things and many parents are too quick to give in.

No Steve, that is sending her the wrong message. Stripper heels are for strippers or women who want to act like strippers while dancing for their guy. She needs to be a little girl for now and not grow up so fast. And what age group is she talking about that is wearing them and where? I see 12 to 18 year olds girls every day at school and out, and no one is wearing stripper heels.

I havent seen too many 12 year olds who where stripper shoes, which I do feel may be a good thing. In fact I have'nt seen too many people wearing them with jeans besides Pamela Anderson!! However if she is wearing them with jeans it isnt as bad as if it was with a short skirt or shorts!!! Still she may be a bit young! Hope it helps!

hmm nicely basically reason a bunch of different women are doing it does not propose she might want to leap in. She's 15 she's nonetheless somewhat woman. and how you gown at that age can get you solid interest or really undesirable interest. she will nonetheless placed on effective footwear and seem lovable with out searching like she needs hassle.....

I think "stripper heels" look trashy on any woman. But yes, 12 is too young for such tall heels. A short heel maybe, but not what she is asking for.

WAYYY too young. Your first instinct was the right one, dont buy those for her unless you want to upset her parents. Girls who wear stripper heels are usually in the 18-20s range.

It's a very hot look- for 25 year old strippers. Your neice is way too young. Soon it'll be vinyl miniskirts and fishnet stockings- just say no!
