We usually go to Wildwood, Nj in July and the temp is great beach weather. However we need to vacation in June and I cant give up the beach. I really dont want to go to Florida. But I will consider going south. Just cant do the Mickey Mouse thing.

While the ocean water in Widwood, NJ is not as warm as you have experienced in July, Wildwood begins to become popular as a family beach destination after Memorial Day, so it's still worth a try.

Other alternatives, as family beach destinations in early June are,
Ocean City, Maryland and Virginia Beach, VA.

Have a nice trip....

I dont know how far the drive is, but Myrtle Beach, SC is great. Lots of tourist places to go, great beach, friendly people. And many of the bigger resorts have childrens programs.

If you want a more laid back vacation, why not check out the Outer Banks of NC. Beautiful, not that crowded, kids will enjoy the fairy rides. Light house trips are beautiful and educational.

Why not try flying 12 to 14 hours. Cairns, QLD Australia. Although it is our winter, it is still warmer then most American Cities in their summer. Great beaches, wonderful food, and only a 3 hour flight from Sydney, 4 hours to Melbourne!

Long Beach Island is another great family location on the Jersey Shore. It's not as commercialized as Wildwood and it's definitely geared towards parents and kids.

Bethany Beach, DE or Fenwick Island, DE.

Rehoboth Beach, DE is also very nice. But be aware that although a great family destination it is also one of the largest gay beach communities in the US.
