Yes, they are answering Bush’s challenge, and they are doing it with deadly accuracy. I find, to this day, Bush’s little childish taunt of “bring it on” so deplorable for several reasons.
Number one, he is not the one fighting on the frontlines. Other unfortunate souls are doing the fighting on his behalf, and his taunting the opposition costs him nothing, but it will and did inflame the opposition so much, along with his “we are on a Crusade” phrase, that his statements could only cause more lives of our men to be lost.
Secondly, by using such a juvenile euphemism to announce a military challenge doesn’t speak much of our President and his intellectual ability. There are more mature ways to address an armed conflict that still conveys the seriousness of your “resolve” without making this look like a schoolyard rumble. He could have said we will “engage you with all the ferocity and vigor that surpasses anything in your most farfetched fantasy”, or he could have said “any act of aggression against us will be repaid exponentially, and we will exact pain from your kind that will make your followers shudder for generations”. Clearly if an average mind, such as mine, can come up with more imaginative and eloquent ways of articulating an intrepid posture, surely our President, our voice to the world, should be able to do the same.
His “bring it on” statement is both costly and embarrassing. If I could go back in time I would edit that inane statement out of our records. Of course if I were to try to remove any evidence of idiotic statements coming from Bush, I would spend the rest of my life in the editing room.

The insurgents are fighting more for total control and domination - they are opposed to any government that would answer to the people, rather than the other way around - they simply want total rule under Islamic law. They have made their objectives very clear many times over.
Imagine, using terror and murder tactics, fighting AGAINST your own people who desire a democratic government - and people like Cindy Sheehan refers to these dirt bags as "freedom fighters" - absolute insanity!

Most Iraqis want the US troops out of their country and the Iraqi Congress sent Bush a letter asking him to remove the US troops.

Yeah, they are giving him just what he wanted. 3,000+ US casualties, 100,000s Iraqi causalities and a country in chaos & ruin.
He's really showing them.
