First, a one-dimensional team isn't much of a team and probably won't get very far.
Check out the facts, the kicker typically makes more points than any other player on the team throughout the season. No other player is expected to score every time he touches the ball.
In the playoffs this year, most teams have appeared to be relatively evenly matched. The kicking team has been the overwhelming deciding factor. The highest scoring player on any team is typically the kicker. Without a good kicking team, you probably will not win many games.

Special teams are good for getting field goals, creating good field position, and... that's about it. Defense, on the other hand, aims to prevent the other team from scoring. If you have a great defense, your offense will stay on the field longer, which increases your chance of scoring. Special teams are there as a last resort to most plays because you don't want to turn the ball over, might i add, with bad positioning. If you look at the three games you mentioned, sure it was the special teams that scored (most of the time) the winning scores, but had it not been for that team's defense, do you think their offense would've been able to put them in position to score?

No. Special teams do not win. Special teams might get the winning point from time to time. But it takes an offense to bring the special teams on the field. And a defence to keep the other off the field. Special teams are soccer players.

well its kinda both...........sorry to burst your bubble, but special teams kick the field goals and get great field position for the offense to work with. while the defense has to make the interceptions so they can keep bringing on the offense to score more points. also D keeps the opponent from scoring. so football is a team effort so everyone is just as important. ;P go Patriots! ^_^

I worked for 7 years for a branch a million college football crew. Our wonderful head coach had a philosophy....and his philosophy became continually "particular communities WINS (and can want to LOSE) ballgames". particular communities became his infant.
