Im Not a terrorist and dont intend on using the nitrate for a bomb but I intend on using it as a propellant. Dont lecture me on the laws I know trust me. Does anyone know how to purify it. I know you can purify KNO3 by recrystalization. The source i have is ammonium nitrate fertilizer which is 30-0-0. I know it burns because i sloshed some on the fire and it made it flare up. But someone please help!

The 30 in 30-0-0 is available nitrogen for agricultural purposes, not a percentage of the material. KNO3 is Potassium Nitrate.
You might wish to read the Wiki article below both for information and risks. It appears that agricultural is about as pure as you can get and recrystalization isn't going to help much if that is your goal. And grinding it may get exciting.
