Well im from South Texas and i say "yall" quite often.
When i went to New Jersey and New York, the people up there thought i had a crazy accent (which i dont) and they thought i said "yall" alot, which is wierd because they said it just as much as i did.

I know I say yall a lot. Central Texas here. I also say yunder not yonder. Sad thing is, even when I go to visit family in the South Houston Friendswood area, they comment on my southern accent. Heck, I can't help it.

I think it's very true! I moved here from near Chicago in 1988. I don't say y'all. It still sounds .. a little... funny to me, but every now and then I wonder... what is the plural of "you" if not "y'all"??? I still won't use it though.

I'm from Austin and I say y'all all the time. Just habit. But it just isn't a Texas thing. People from all over say it.

Being from Texas myself, I must confess I'm guilty. As much as I try I still catch myself using the "Y'all" term frequently.

Someone came here to Texas and said the same thing. I never notice, but I guess it's true. We're used to it because we hear it all the time.... I guess.

Yep! We say "Y'all" quite a bit here in Texas. FYI - "Y'all" is a contraction of "You all", making it a plural of you. But did you know that in Texas there is also a plural of "y'all"? It's "all y'all".
I'm from Amarillo.
