Hey guys! This is my first question here, so if i do something wrong, please don't flame me.

Ok, say I want to make my own religion.

Do I have to go through some special process to make it "official", or does just believing in it already make it official?

Like say my religion prohibits school on friday or something like that. I tell my principal that i can't go to school on friday anymore, because of my new belief. Does he have to just accept it, or can he do something about it?

Like the Amish can't go to school after 8th grade.

If thats the case, couldn't just everybody make up some totally wierd "religions" that allow them to do bad things, and nobody would have the right to stop them due to "freedom of religion"?

And if they tried to, it would be unconstitutional.

anyway, that's all.

thanks in advance!

Here is something that was said about the free exercise of religion about 67 years ago:

"The First Amendment declares that Congress shall make no law ... prohibiting the free exercise [of religion]. The Fourteenth Amendment has rendered the legislatures of the states as incompetent as Congress to enact such laws. ... [T]he Amendment embraces two concepts -- freedom to believe and freedom to act. The first is absolute but, in the nature of things, the second cannot be. Conduct remains subject to regulation for the protection of society. ..." .......................... Cantwell v. Connecticut, 310 U.S. 296 (1940).

So no, you and other people cannot just do "totally weird" things and claim that it's per your own personal religion.

You should remember that, to a large extent, courts of law are places in which the judge has a responsibility to determine whether or not you are telling the truth. So if you tried to claim that your own religion recognizes that you don't have to go to school on Fridays, the judge(s) hearing your case (i.e., your dispute with your school officials) is going to have to decide whether you are being honest about your religious belief or whether you're just being facetious.

Ok, this is simple, Yes you can make your "own religion" to cut school, as that is what your REALLY trying to do...But you must have followers, and be recognized by the religious union as an "official" religion, if they accept your proposal, then it goes down as being an official religion, and will therefore affect, or effect, school and job related issues. Otherwise, keep preaching.

The communities you reported have almost no credibility, and, for solid reason. I regarded this up: 4% of Catholic monks are accused. examine that to 5% of instructors. seventy 5% of abused infants are abused by using their mom and dad. yet another 15% by using different family members. Of the monks accused, a tiny fraction is convicted. some million priest in one thousand. the conventional age of the new child is 17. maximum cases date to the 1950's, and 1960's. cases after 1970 are uncommon, and cases of youthful infants (pre-little ones) are exceptionally uncommon. yet, the theory of all it fairly is actual distinctive. The Catholics did decrease to rubble by using "hiding" errant monks. They not try this, and have not in a mutually as. human beings do not seem to have observed. So, to not excuse what they did, yet, the reality is your new child is lots safer, statistically, with a clergyman than at homestead, or maybe at college. Witch hunts are actually not useful, and those human beings have 0 potential besides.

No you cant make your own to get out of going to school or to do bad things.

You cant register a religion, you would have to get enough people to beleive the exact same thing as you then it might be reconized. But you got no chance in that happining

The government can't interfere if they break no laws! The government doesn't officially recognize religions! It is unconstitutional!

There are no official religions. All you have to do is start it up, get followers, milk them of all their money, marry their underage daughters and you are all set.
