I would like to start doing web pages, but I have no clue how to go about doing it. I know how to sort of create the pages in programs but no idea after that, and what about servers? Do I need servers and whatnot? I am sorry but just sort of bad at this sort of thing. Need help.

Oh, and I am not talking about the free ones that you can do at such sites as Yahoo and myspace. Thanks!

I would agree with the others here on this one. Start out slow and easy, best way of doing this is using a free website such as Yahoo!
The yahoo page maker as I think its called, does allow you to use html code as well as assists you in creating your page. And as you go along, you can learn about the more advanced ways of making pages, such as using Dreamweaver, and servers. Using webpages with servers are very very complicated if you just want to jump right in.
Learn about the process first, then go about advancing into servers. A friend of mine has a webpage on a server but because he moved, a necessary server port is now blocked making his webpage useless to being accessed from the internet.

Start by learning about what you're doing, rather than having programs do it for you. You can use programs to assist you, but anything more and that's like calling yourself a mechanic after driving a car around. No, not really.
Do you understand what a webpage really is? Are you aware of HTML, CSS, Javascript? Do you understand what a server is? What a client is? If such things seem complicated to you, you have serious learning to do.
So start by declaring program-abstinence. No dreamweaver, frontpage, or any such programs to help you out. There's a huge list of links at http://alvit.de/handbook/ so spend some time there. Google on how to use HTML and CSS to create webpages.
"Do I need servers and whatnot?"
No, not yet anyway. You need a server when doing web programming. If you're asking this question, you're nowhere near that level, so don't worry about servers for now.

Not difficult. There are free sites to somewhat practice on. But a small fee one might would be better for starting out. Probably get more better options for about $50 a year? Is that right? Maybe Yahoo and looked at something around godaddy dot com

There are a lot of sites that can do it for you!
you just search for them as "Create my own website"
Get a proper domain name, and pay the annual price or whatever they ask for!
you will have to just fill up a form and submit your HTMLdesgin if any to the company who will provide you some space on a server

if you're just learning, start by making htm files using note pad
start simple
tags with text in between them, see how thatl ooks
add a with text in it for a link
then just kindof work from there. once you have some html files you can host them on a web space. but why pay for that now? wait until u know what you're doing.

You will need to register a domain name and park it on a host if you want it to be on the internet. One of the cheapest and most reliable besides being easy to use hosts (I've been using them for 4 years now and was the 6th host I tried after many failures back then).

Also, you'll want to learn HTML. Go to this link for free lessons:

I started like you and now I'm a pro.
I self-thought my self.
Read tutorials and don't be afraid to use the programs.
Now I'm a frequent user of FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, PageMaker, etc.
