During the Mesozoic, the Earth went from global desert, to global hot house, within about 150 million years. In only about 10,000 years the Earth has transitioned from the "ice age" to the relatively temperate climate we have today. What makes anyone think that just because man is now recording history and self aware that the climate will stop changing? If you look at the cycle, we are supposed to be heading back toward a desert climate and are overdue for a magnetic shift which will wreak havoc on the global weather.

I have noticed that the announcements of how severe global warming is only take place during the summer. Notice that you don’t hear much in January in the Northern Hemisphere or in July in the Southern (the Southern Hemisphere suffered an exceedingly cold winter in 2006).

One last thing, I live in the front range of Colorado. Please don’t talk to me about global warming. If anything, it seems the winters are just getting colder the last few years.

Nice job on your research. While I agree that the climate changes are cyclical, I think it would be remiss to assume that Global Warming's effects are negligible. I am sure greenhouse gasses do add to the problem but I doubt as much as many are attempting to have us believe.

Well explain that to the beached whales for which there is no reason, explain the excessive movement of the earth, explain the islands that were at one point unknown now exposed at the polar ice caps, explain that to the thousands of birds falling dead out of the sky in Australia. Explain why trees are blooming in January rather than March. Explain why there were snow flurries in Africa. And during this cold snap why is it hotter in east usa than west usa in december and january. What was that tsunami about. What is up with all the earthquakes in Indonesia and Japan Greece and the Middle East. The last time there was a problem with the weather that was discernable it was called the ice age. Where do you live when it is all to hot. Oh I forgot explain to me why the water that is feeding the Nile is starting to dry up and now people are having to go to the middle of the lake to get water. Your suggestion sounds great on paper but the facts are a little better to wrap your mind around. You had better start saving water.

i do agree that the climate is probably changing on its own. i completely agree with that. however, i also say that in addition to the natural cycle, humans have been dangerously speeding up the process. if you look at the percentages of CO2 in the atmosphere over the years, the numbers have been shockingly climbing much faster that normal, leading to the greenhouse effect. (high population+pollution) this, combined with the natural changes, is raising the temperature much faster than it's supposed to be going. i hope you understand what im trying to say.

Blah..Blah..Blah.... you know we are changing Earth's climate due to pollution. Yes, these patterns have occured throughout the Earth's history, but we have accelerated the rate tremendously. Are you working for the government?

Perhaps you should go read a book about what Global Warming really is. Global Warming doesn't mean only hot temperatures, it means warmer summers and colder winters. This is what is happening. It is a known fact that the emissions that we produce are wreaking havok on the ozone, trapping heat and warming the planet. This is also causing the polar ice to melt and many species of animals to die, such as the polar bear which may soon make it on the Endangered Species Act for the first time since the Act was passed due to melting ice which is causing the bears to drown. Sea levels are also rising and the oceans are getting warmer, causing many marine species to die or migrate to cooler waters. Global Warming IS cause for concern, and something needs to be done now.

I hope you don't assume that pollution has no effect on climate.

You conservatives want to justify everything that Dubya and the Republican party does.

That gets me too, also, yeah, the winters here (in southern arizona) have been getting colder. I think people don't except it because you have major liberal political figure heads pushing it. They could stand out there on their soap box and say that crystal meth is really really fun and does no harm at all, and the general public will buy it.
