I plug it into my computer and it says do not disconnect like usual, but then it keeps on flashing do not disconnect. It won't even update. HELP!!

Check your computer screen. Details on the sync process are there, not on your iPod. Once it has stopped, just "eject the removable disc" from your computer. You'll see that the blinking "Do not disconnect" is now gone.

you can disconnect it
that is just a feature so someone doesnt disconnect while a download is happening or an update is happening.
disconnect it, it wont do any harm.

Mine did the same thing. I just went to i pod help page and got it all fixed. I ended up having to restore it.
