how many years of college does it take to become a pharmacist?

In the US, you usually take the 4 year for bachelors, then 4 years of Pharm school route. Otherwise, there are 6 year programs where after high school, you do 2 years at an undergrad taking the bare minimum of necessary courses and go on to the pharm school.

I believe in Canada, you just need a bachelors to be a pharmacist. However, the pay is much lower (from what a Canadian pharmacist friend tells me) so I assume the job is somewhat different.

To get a Pharm D degree to practice Pharmacy takes 6 years: 4 years of Undergraduate and 2 years of Graduate Study. You can get Pre-Pharm in many colleges and then you apply for Pharmacy school for 4 more years. You can continue education later to earn Masters or Ph.D degrees.

depends i think that you need at least a master in pharmecy and there's only like 55 schools in the us , also i think you might need a chem degree to get into a pharmchey school

and fyi pharmicolgist and pharmist are diffrent
