The crude oil is mined from the underground and not prepared. It is processed into different grades of fuel by chemical processing in refineries. other non fuel products are also made from the crude oil.

That's oil as it comes from the ground and before it is refined. The number of commercially viable products it can be made into increases almost daily, from medicines to textiles to building materials to paving materials to automobile tires to cosmetics and coffins. Wild, isn't it?
