I have a myspace page and I have to say I really like it. It lets me stay in touch with friends that I went to school with and also meet new people. My favorite part is you get to have you own personal page with your personality on it. I know I change my page all the time but I'm getting better at leaving my page one way for more than a couple of days. Meeting new people has always interested me but on here I am really careful. Out of all my friends on there I know all of them personally but maybe two and those two I ended up adding because I did a project over their country.

If you're interested in meeting new people then this site would probably be great for you. I don't really like the fact that some people are going and actually meeting the people in person that they know nothing about but that is their decision. I've done that once but the person I met I had talked to everyday for 3 months and well I knew it would happen. I'm glad I did that though because we are now together. I know some people don't really like myspace and think it causes problems but I really haven't had a problem with it. All I can remember is one problem and once I emailed Tom about it, it was fixed. Lately I've been hearing that potential employers are looking to see if you have a myspace page and they check it out. So if you decide you want one you might want to think about what all you put on your page.

We have investigated over 600 pedofile complaints....467 are currently in jail, having past records...97 are pending warrants and the other 70 or so are still under investigations, I'm a part of the CyberPatrol and while this is not all we investigate this is one of the top ten complained about sites. Trust me, Private doesn't matter, if I can get in they can...they are better at hiding their tracks and better at acting your age. Remember just because someone says they are under 15 doesn't mean they are. If they send a pic...big deal I have pictures of people all ages...have to have them to catch them. This may help...download IP Info and you might be able to track them, but they sometimes use a rotating IP. Remember your passwords aren't always safe nor are your friends email address that you have especially if your broadband. But you do what you want I'm sure, heck your parents only have a few decades of experiance on you...what could they possibly know better than you, right?

I have to admit that I am a myspace addict. I can't help it. It feels like a place you can hang out and wait for your friends to show up. That's kinda crazy I know, but it's whatever. If your parents are worried about you being on myspace, then sit down with them and show them all about it. They may be scared about it , because they don't know anything about it. Just show them what you are doing on there, which should be talking to friends, and that your profile is set to private so that weirdos can't see your page. Just show them that there's nothing to be afraid of.

MySpace is only bad if people under 18 are posting all their personal info and posting "sexy" pics of themselves. Your parents DO have a point, but if you keep your profile private and only add people you know, you should be OK. There are a LOT of pervs that cruise that site looking for young dumb kids that will just blindly meet someone by the mall or wherever.

I like myspace it lets me see a lot of buddys i haven't seen in years. in another year if the internet gets any worse i'm gonna have to switch my profile to private. Your parents need to chill about myspace. my mom was the same way at first so. Just make sure you check out the person your gonna add if you don't know them and don't give any info that can be traced to you.

yes there are bad people on myspace, but there are bad people everywhere anyway! And you don't have to talk to those people if you don't want.. Myspace is kewl no matter how you look at it. It's a good way of keeping in touch and showing your personality and different things you like. Just stay clear of putting personal information online.

I understand their concerns. I Have a Space but I keep it strictly private. This is a good way to keep in touch with old friends and possibly meet new friends if you play it smart. Dont approve people you absolutely dont know and obviously if they send you crazy messages you delete them. If someone has over 500 hundred friends you know they are in it for a bad reason. Dont ppost pictures that show you in a sexual way or that give a wrong idea. If you talk volguraly obviously you are giving off a bad impression. Basically play it smart and dont trust anyone!!!!

Myspace is a pedophiles dream land. Whorish 16 year olds everywhere with nothing better to do than post badly edited images of themselves everywhere.

well there are perves out there, but i think myspace gets a lot of bad rap,but since you have it on private can't just anyone reach you.your parents are just listening to all the stuff on the news about myspace.just reassure them that since your account is private that not just anyone can contact you.

I love myspace and I'm addicted.
I have mine on private too. Honestly if your page is on private and you aren't adding random strangers as friends I don't see there being a problem. But that's just me.
