YES!
Holy crap, I cannot believe I'm not the only one that feels like this. I used to think I was such a weirdo for feeling this way but WOOHOO! I am not alone!
*hugz you a million times*
Alright, enough of that psycho-babble...
I like being sad sometimes. It reminds me that I can still feel. It's familiar. The pain is something I crave because then I'll know how much something means to me. When I can't be sad, I doubt my attachment to the subject at hand. It's quite odd. Sometimes it just feels nice to be consumed by sadness. It's nice to feel the tears. It feels like there actually is something I truly care about.
Plus, I can't forget if I'm sad. And I really don't want to forget some things just because they mean so much...

Yes, when I was much younger. That wore off when I was around 30...now I avoid things that make me sad. I don't even watch TV shows that might make me cry, at least not intentionally.

yes, i have felt this way and i can understand if someone has never felt this way. but for what it's worth, i think it's a little unfair of people just to put someone else's feelings in a category that they feel comfortable with, like emo or self-pity, because they are unfamiliar with them.

I'm sad but I don't want to stay here. I'm trying to reach for my bootstraps.

I think that is called depression. I do have that mood but I try and get over it because it is self centered (IMHO)
