Are you talking about the Tom Brady who threw 3 interceptions yesterday? A qb rating of 57.6? He completed 53% of his passes, throwing for 280 yards. Sometimes its better to be lucky than good.

By comparison, Grossman had a rating of 76.9, completing 55%, throwing for 282 yards, and only one pic. REX!

I'd say you could make the assertion he's better than Aikman - Aikman was, after all, surrounded by talent and excellent coaches. He only really hit that peak of his performance as part of the Triplets.

Elway and Montana, though, I think you couldnt say Brady has yet passed. Those were both QBs who produced with many different groups of players around them, and who could shoulder their team when they needed to - Elway in The Drive, and the Comeback Kid in many other situations, for instance - which I think Brady will have to continue for the rest of his career before you can compare the two.

I know its early but I think Tom Brady could be the greatest QB of all time if he keeps playing at this level. He has bad games once in a while but he is always able to come back in the clutch especially in the playoffs. He doesnt even have any potential hall of fame or superstar receivers just average receivers. Look at yesterdays game Gaffney was released by the Texans and he ended up gettting 10 rec for 107 yd and 1 td. Caldwell got released by the Chargers ironically and he helped to set up the winning field goal, that would have been a TD but his momentum took him out of bounds. I think Tom Brady will be better than these QBs at the end of his career, stats only say so much but Super Bowl rings tell the whole jorney. Elway had Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Davis and Rod Smith. Aikman had Irvin, Alvin Harper and Emmitt Smith. I cant remember who Montana had. Brady lost Dieon Branch and David Patten and is still able to play well without really good recievers or a consistent rushing attack from his HBs. His also about to have so many Super Bowl rings that he cant wear them on one hand. He has 3 already.

I love Tom Brady and the Patriots. I think Tom Brady is a great QB but i wouldn't say he's a better QB he just has the great throwing skills John Elway and Joe Montana had.

As of right now in his career I'd say as far as better than Elway, Montana or Aikman, no, and not better they they ever were, because those guys had great careers, but so far early on in his career Brady has had an awesome career. Give him time, he could end up better or close. He's already done something that Montana never did in a Superbowl, by throwing an interception.

First drop John Elway out of that conversation cause he only won 1 super bowl. I'd say that as of right now Montana and Aikman were better than Brady was but I think Brady will surpass them.

wow, thats a tall assumption. the fact is that tom brady is one of the luckiest s o bs on the field. i have never seen brady pick apart a defense the way montana could, and march the ball downfield to score when it counts. he gets lucky breaks, and when it comes down to it, he's never been able to win a clutch game without the foot of a kicker. shame on you for even putting elway montana and aikman in the same category.

No. Elway, Montana and Aikman are ALL better than Brady.

I still think its Montana, but there is no doubt Brady is coming up fast in the rear view mirror!

I personally HATE the Patriots and I don't think they'll get by Manning and the Colts this year, (I can hear the screaming protests of the Pats fans, just remember, Dungy is NO Marty Schottenheimer!) but this is an "off-year" for them, this team isn't even near as good as the three that won SBs, and just look at them!

No, unless somebody puts a .357 slug in the back of Belichick's skull some dark and awful night, these guys (and Brady) have more SBs coming, even if its not this year........

not better but has the potential to be better if he keeps it up with what he is doing. Like others have said already, Montana, Elway and Aikman have "had" a good career, but Brady's is just beginning. P.S. One big difference with them and Brady is that they all had amazing people backing them and making them better. Brady has made his team better.

In terms of finding ways, any way, to win games he will rank up there with some of the best like Elway and Favre who have the most wins as starting QBs. In terms of physical talent that can take over and dominate a game like Elway and Marino had...no. In terms of clutch performances in big games he has the rings to show for that.
