Does anyone know what kind of microscope one needs to emulate Dr. Emotos experiment with water crystals.?

He used an optical microscope but used a technique called "Dark Field Illumination" which enables you to see details that are normally not resolved by the microscope objective.

It had to be done in a very cold environment because the intense light melts the crystals very fast.
