I've had friends who made it and didn't make it to U of I.
I know that U of I is getting tougher to get in to.
How hard is it? I am thinking about majoring in Computer Science.
With Computer Science, it is probably hard to get in but it's included in the LAS category, which is one of the easier things to get in with. So I don't really understand the difficulty. If I am top 15-20% of the class, then what ACT score will I need to get accepted? What is the average class rank and ACT scores of the students who are accepted?

Which U of I?
I'm assuming Urbana, because Chicago has Computer Science in the college of Engineering, and Springfield is a LAC.
The average ACT for Urbana is about a 27, and High school rank is, I think, about top 15% or so. If you would get greater than a 25, you'll be in good shape.
UIC Engineering has the highest averages of any of the regular colleges at UIC with average ACT of 27 and average high school rank of top 15-20%.
