I do not have normal periods, I have had like 2 periods a year since I was 16. (I'm 20) so that's why I was asking, If I was spotting around the week of the 1st would it be 2 weeks along, or ? I took the digital pregnancy test that shows the word "pregnant" are those ever wrong? I'm going to Planned Parenthood tomorrow after work...so I was just curious..

the tests sold in stores are basically the same they use for the first checks in the doctors office. They are 98% accurate if taken a week after a period is suppose to be due. If you read the box they tell you the percentage rate of accuracy. They nearly are all in the 80% range. That indicates that they are virtually never wrong but if you doubt it go get a pee or blood test done at the doctors. Spotting and light bleeding can happen at anytime after implatation. Since you have very irregular periods, spotting and bleeding wont truely tell you how pregnant you are. Unfortunately guessing your babies due date and when you got pregnant , IF your pregnant, will be hard to guess. Some Measuring of the uterus and a ultrasound can give you a guess of how far along you are. Call doc today!

Don't dye your hair or drink excessive caffiene until after you talk to the doctor. I have heard that dying can put bad things in the bloodstream, but I don't know. Caffiene- we actually studied this in my Child Development class, and this can actually lead to birth defects if it is excessive. So, a Coke a day? Probably ok. Energy drinks and coffee? Might not do any harm.....but why risk it? Just think of baby every time you put anything into your body and you should be fine. Oh, for showers? You shouldn't get into hot tubs, but unless you take them REALLY hot, hot showers should be okay. You don't want your body temp. to increase by much at all or baby could suffer brain damage, but it takes pretty hot water before you're in danger. Still, be safe- don't run your hottest water over your back and belly for extended times. Use a showerhead with hose to run the hot water over your aching shoulders, soak your feet if you need, wash your hair as hot as you like- just be a bit more delicate with baby's home.

It is pretty unlikley to get a false positive. Good Luck, I didn't read your first question yet, so I guess I'll go do that...
