There are calculators that will accumulate operands and then apply the operation rule mercilessly.
If you put the equation like this

3 + 3/2

then the calculator will give the division a higher priority, as if it was written thus:

3 + (3/2)

There are lots of variations in the way calculators operate, so you have to know your machine "quirks".

This sort of things is not an issue for RPN calculators, where a stack is used to ensure proper operational sequence:

3 ENTER
3 +
2 /

Answer: 3

So 3+3/2 is really like saying either 6/2+3/2 which equals 9/2 or 3+1.5=4.5. 9/2 is the same as 4.5. When you add fractions you add the tops together to get the new top number and you add the bottoms together to get the new bottom number. Nine halves or 9/2 is the same as saying nine divided by two, if you put 9 divided by 2 in you calculator you will get 4.5.

There is BODMAS Rule.. (Bracket of Division, Multiplication, Addition, Substraction).. So when u calculate these type of sums.. First Bracket is taken into consideration, then Division and so on....

so in ur question division is taken into consideration.. 3/2 = 1.5 and then it is added to 3, so the result is 4.5

use parenthesis around the 3+3

(3+3)/2

the calculator knows order of operations!

there is one rule i think its BODMAS which stands for bracket, order, division, multiplication, addition, subtaction
which is the order of operation that the calculator follows
which means that it will solve first the one enclosed in a bracket and so on and so forth
so to get an answer of 3 to your equation just enclose your 3+3 in a bracket

YOU HAVE 3 (WHICH IS JUST 3) + 3/2 (WHICH IS 3 DIVIDED BY 2 = 1,5)

SO 3+1.5 = 4.5
