My fiance and I are thinking about moving to California in a yr or less, but particularly want to live in San Bernardino co (mostly to be by Nevada and Lake Havasu, family there). We've done research of some of the cities nearby but haven't found what we're looking for.......We are looking to move to the outskirts/on edge of a city/big town, or to a suburban area because we have a son, are getting married this year and plan on having another one, later down the road. I'd really appreciate people w/ personal experience of this county, maybe you have opinions and possibly links. Thank you;)

Look in the North end of San Bernardino it is nicer and less crime ! It is closer to Cal State however there is not much College traffic I have been a lot of places "military" and came back here it is nice. You would be about 2 1/2 hrs from Nevada. Also another city is Redlands it is nice but people there tend to act like Beverly Hills but do not have money like that :) sorry to put it so blunt. Not sure how old your son is I have a 7&4 yr old they both go to school and are invloved in after school programs my 7yr old goes to school from 830-600pm it saves $$ a lot on day care and my 4yr old next year will be in the same program they offer a lot of programs like that here! http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/ heres a web site about the county and I have 25 yrs experience of this county and on a scale of 1-10 would rate it a 8 I have also lived in Riverside, Palm Springs, Yucca Valley, Colton, and think that as long as you are in the right part of San Bernardino you are ok. My emial luvcra@yahoo.com should you have any more questions

I even have in no way heard of this. besides the undeniable fact that, human beings do it any incorrect way around, commuting from the Inland Empire to OC, considering that homestead values are decrease interior the Inland Empire. I in no way understood it. OC is a suburb, and San Bernardino is a suburb. they are greater or less comparable in terms of character, colleges, and so on. Why commute from one suburb to a distinctive? The commute would be undesirable. attempt to apply metrolink in case you may. If not, then get a house in San Bernardino.

If you want something close to the border, all you're gonna get is very rural desert areas. Otherwise, it's Baker or Barstow and I'd rather roll in my own puke than live there. You might be better off in a Vegas suburb or even Laughlin.

If you want something closer to LA but still somewhat rural, there is Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, etc. That's where LA people go when they cant afford a house and want some land.

There are none, and a lot of gang activity. I use to live close to there, and moved to KY for better quality of life....
